Shortgrass Library System is one of seven Regional Library Systems in the Province of Alberta. Shortgrass Library System is a service-oriented, non-profit organization and is registered as a charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency.
Shortgrass provides many services to public libraries in Southeast Alberta, including: Integrated Library System, centralized ordering/cataloguing/processing, IT infrastructure & support, consultation, programming kits, interlibrary courier system, and much more.
Shortgrass Library System activities and initiatives are guided by our Plan of Service.
We acknowledge that we work on Treaty 7 and Treaty 4 territory, traditional lands of the Siksika (Blackfoot), Kainai (Blood), Piikani (Peigan), Stoney-Nakoda, and Tsuut'ina (Sarcee) as well as the Cree, Sioux, and the Saulteaux bands of the Ojibwa peoples. We also honour and acknowledge that we are on the homelands of the Métis Nation within Region III.
